Structural Calculation Program SEIN La CREA® Certified Edition Launched

NTT DATA Corporation (Koto-ku, Tokyo: President and CEO: Toru Yamashita) today began sales of SEIN La CREA® Certified Edition, structural calculation software for reinforced concrete buildings and steel frame buildings, as the first program to be certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism since a revised Building Standards Law went into effect.
A structural calculation program is software for calculating the safety of building designs, including the ability to withstand earthquakes and strong winds. After revisions to the Building Standards Law went into effect in June 2007, Ministry certification of existing structural calculation programs was no longer valid. In response, NTT DATA developed SEIN La CREA Certified Edition as a structural calculation program conforming to the revised law, with enhancements that include more extensive functions for preventing data falsification. The program was put on sale today after receiving Ministry certification. The advantages to use of a certified program over one that has not been certified include a shorter examination period and lower cost of applying for approval.
Features of SEIN La CREA Certified Edition
Designed to prevent input of false data
Selecting certified program operation mode when starting up the program imposes restrictions on data input, preventing the entry of data not conforming to regulations on building standards or data judged as improper based on the calculation conditions and other factors. In this way, data falsification and misuse of the program are prevented.
Facilitates visual checking of calculation results
Visual checking is made possible by graphical output of the building shape and calculation results, as a means of preventing falsification or erroneous use. The graphical output can also be used when the structural designer prepares materials for presentation to building owners.
