The product range initially starts with a desktop service and will be expanded to provide total support for customers’ IT systems with NTT DATA’s business application suits in the cloud. The three-year target revenue from the service is five billion yen.
In recent years, many Japanese firms have been expanding their operations in the APAC region where the economy is booming and investment is expected to increase. Demands for cloud computing services are becoming high for speedy business operations. And from various business points of view such as BCP, DR(Disaster Recovery), cost, and business hub, data centers as corporate cloud infrastructures in the APAC region are attracting attention. Thanks to the low occurrence of natural disaster and stable energy supply, Malaysia enjoys popularity in the world.
NTT DATA will fully utilize its know-how in systems development and an excellent track record on cloud services to provide cloud services in the APAC region. Our cloud services will be delivered from Malaysia Data Center in cooperation with NTT DATA Malaysia. As the first service product, NTT DATA has started “BizXaaS Office” thin client service for offices. This product enables users to implement thin client environment quickly at low costs.
“BizXaaS Office” was released in Japan in May 2011. The product is a cloud service for offices and is currently offering a desktop service (DaaS: Desktop as a Service) as well as mail and file server services based on Microsoft products. To meet the needs of the APAC market, which requires access to the Internet from small offices, this product has the following features for enabling customers to use the service at ease without worrying about performance and security.
The service provided for the APAC region is built in NTT group’s high-quality data center in Malaysia. Malaysia has a very low occurrence of natural disasters, including earthquakes, and has a stable energy supply. In addition, Malaysia ranks third as an offshore business destination after China and India and is highly regarded as an excellent IT outsourcing location. NTT DATA actively uses its resources in Malaysia for building customers’ overseas data centers and private cloud computing environments as well as NTT DATA’s own cloud environment for systems development.
The service range of “BizXaaS Office” for the APAC region will be expanded to incorporate services currently available in Japan such as Exchange mail service. In addition, with the initial desktop service, customers’ perimeter servers will be consolidated to the “BizXaaS office” virtual environment for providing total support for customers’ IT systems. The three-year target revenue from the service is five billion yen. In future, we will expand the service from the APAC region to our other operation hubs in Europe and the U.S.
