Our Vision

On behalf of the NTT DATA Group, I express our deepest condolences to all those impacted by the Great East Japan Earthquake. We hope for the speedy recovery and reconstruction of the disaster-hit areas and pray for all those whose lives have been affected.
The NTT DATA Group has been contributing to society through information technology (IT) by providing systems that undergird Japan's social infrastructures. Therefore, we are mobilizing the full capabilities of our Group to assist in the restoration and reconstruction of the earthquake-affected areas.
IT is a fundamental component in the daily lives of each individual and society as a whole as well as an essential tool for business operations, which are evolving at an unprecedented pace in the wake of rapid technological advances and accelerating globalization. In this context, the NTT DATA Group is focusing on the following three major initiatives for delivering greater value as an innovation partner for customers.
The first initiative is expanding global resources. To meet the needs of companies that are rapidly extending their operations across the globe, we are moving ahead with the rapid construction of systems that will support customers in Japan and overseas. We have already developed an organizational structure encompassing 145 cities in 34 countries. We will build upon this strength by establishing a global delivery model and an empowering collaboration of resources to support the efficient and effective use of IT services. This, in turn, will enable us to deliver value that sharpens the competitive edge of our customers.
The second initiative is to shift our model toward use of services rather than ownership. Driven by customer demand for greater speed and efficiency in business operations, the IT service industry is undergoing a remarkable shift toward "use" rather than "ownership," as exemplified by cloud services. To meet this demand, the NTT DATA Group will further expand its service and software businesses to accelerate innovation while continually providing its signature business models centered on system integration.
The third initiative is to pursue environment-oriented management. Information technology, as stated in "Green of IT" and "Green by IT", holds great promise for enabling business and society to address pressing environmental concerns. The NTT DATA Group will support the global environmental management systems of our customers and strive to establish a sustainable society for future generations. We will do this through energy- and resource-conserving IT systems, such as our Green Data Center, and environmental operation support solutions as well as strategies for reducing environmental impact.
Apart from these three initiatives, the question of how companies fulfill their social responsibilities has never been more important, as evidenced by the need for supporting restoration and reconstruction following the Great East Japan Earthquake. The role of IT is growing along with the value of its contribution to public infrastructure. The NTT DATA Group is conducting a groupwide effort to mobilize the diverse resources in its IT-based enterprises to realize a prosperous society and deliver value that exceeds customer expectations.
