Abstract
Republic Cement has been a partner in the Philippines’ transformation for over 60 years as a building materials company, and a key contributor to nation building. With its growing brands and operations across the Philippines, Republic Cement Services Inc needed a system to better manage and process the complex data and reports that their business needs.
In partnership with NTT DATA, they replaced their existing business intelligence suite and created an Enterprise Data Warehouse that can consolidate the information coming from their disparate data sources like TDM, Ariba, JDE, and Excel.
NTT DATA also created dashboards to boost collaboration and empower different users with the ability to generate accurate and timely reports across Sales, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Inventory.
Challenge
With over 1100 employees and 6 manufacturing sites across the country, Republic Cement Services Inc sought to improve data efficiency and productivity within the company. They wanted to provide self-service functionalities to empower operations and management with timely, accurate, and necessary data at their fingertips – removing dependency on IT to manually generate it for them. With different systems in place, they also needed a central repository of data that is secure and can support more complex processes without additional overhead cost.
Solution
NTT DATA Philippines created Enterprise Datawarehouse solution to consolidate the information from Republic’s existing sources. The solution used Microsoft SQL Server for Sales, Finance (AR,AP, GL and Control), Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Inventory to create multiple dashboards to boost collaboration between different users. With PowerBI, Republic’s users can have close to real-time reporting allowing them to connect, analyze, and visualize data easily in the cloud across all manufacturing sites in the country.
