TOKYO, JAPAN and PLANO, TX – February 22, 2019 – NTT DATA, a recognized leader in global technology services, was named a “Leader” in Everest Group’s recently published report, “IoT Services PEAK Matrix™ Assessment 2019.” The comprehensive analysis addresses the latest market trends in Internet of Things (IoT) services as enterprises seek to advance their IoT ecosystems.
“IoT is not just a service at NTT DATA, but a core capability that our team values for improving business processes and redesigning business models,” said Toshi Fujiwara, representative director & senior executive vice president, NTT DATA. “It is an honor to be recognized by Everest Group for our team’s dedication to offering innovative and flexible solutions that not only address unique client problems, but also guide the client towards strong and intelligent business decisions.”
NTT DATA was recognized for its strength in flexible, client-oriented service offerings, futuristic technology capabilities and trained talent pool, which allow the company to offer efficient end-to-end solutions. These solutions range from technology and service partnerships to IoT investments such as automated intelligence, edge computing and connected services. In addition to the company’s eight global research projects, these offerings allow NTT DATA to provide customizable solutions to clients around the world.
“Enterprises are gradually building their confidence in IoT and making meaningful progress. However, lack of visibility on return on investment (ROI) is leading to stagnation in scaling up IoT use cases. Service partners are expected to be orchestrators for IoT adoption and support enterprises with sustainable long-term solutions,” said Yugal, Joshi, Vice President, Everest Group. “NTT DATA's strong client orientation and flexibility has helped it foster better client relations and improve client confidence in IoT. Investments in edge capabilities and a strong talent pool have enabled NTT DATA to steer clients toward innovation and value realization.”
Specifically, the company was recognized for several of its solutions, including one for a new eBike rental system at European hotels, which utilizes IoT solutions to provide a new service to hotel guests allowing them to visit tourist sites and local attractions while remaining eco-friendly. The solution implemented uses an AWS-based IoT back-end to allow guests to unlock, ride and lock bikes and experience tourist activities through an exclusive integrated web console and mobile app.
Leaders identified in the PEAK Matrix possess capabilities of facilitating strategy development and successful execution, strong partnerships for enhanced offerings and innovative engagement models for clients. Leaders have also invested in strong talent and advanced capabilities, such as AI and blockchain, which enable them to deliver end-to-end solutions with meaningful outcomes.
