TOKYO – September 1, 2022 –NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services leader, today announced Everest Group has named the company as a Major Contender in its Sustainability Enablement Technology Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022 report. Everest Group rated NTT DATA above average in seven of the report’s nine segments: for overall market impact, overall vision and capability, vision and strategy, scope of services, innovation and investments, delivery footprint, and market adoption.
“NTT DATA’s focus is squarely on realizing a sustainable future – in our internal operations and in outside engagements with clients looking to connect people with technology to deliver sustainable, responsible and profitable business models,” said Kaz Nishihata, Senior Executive Vice President & Representative Director at NTT DATA. “We believe technology should be implemented as a tool to not only drive business value and efficiencies, but also human sustainability and well-being. Being included as a Major Contender in Everest Group’s PEAK Matrix report validates NTT DATA’s position as a necessary IT vendor in sustainability initiatives.”
In the report, Everest Group notes that NTT DATA is efficiently integrating emerging technologies such as AI, IoT and blockchain to drive innovation in its sustainability solutions. The analyst firm highlights how NTT DATA’s supply chain traceability tool, IoTrace, embraces IoT to make supply chains more transparent and how its remote health solution, ehCOS Remote Health, leverages predictive analytics to optimize care for remote patients.
Strengths showcased in the report include NTT DATA’s focus on building a sustainability-skilled workforce and its acquisition of Chainalytics in 2021, which helps clients optimize their supply chains to make them more sustainable.
The report also chronicles several customer success stories. In one project, NTT DATA supported a public agency with a risk assessment of landslides. Using a high-resolution 3D simulation, NTT DATA projected the extent and speed of potential landslide damage, helping the agency refine its plans to construct a dam.
“Enterprises are taking a triple bottom-line approach to sustainability, which combines a focus on people, planet, and profits. Technology is becoming a key enabler in designing responsible business models, and enterprises are partnering with service providers to execute robust roadmaps for sustainability,” said Rita Soni, Principal Analyst, Everest Group. “While the market currently has a greater focus on environmental issues, the pandemic has put social investments in the spotlight, as enterprises try to become more responsible towards the communities, employees, and partners that they serve.
“NTT DATA has a comprehensive set of offerings including carbon footprint tracking, climate risk monitoring, natural capital management, smart city and smart mobility solutions, and sustainable healthcare solutions. NTT DATA has a strong focus on deploying emerging technologies in its offerings, especially on its supply chain traceability and remote health solutions. Hence, it is positioned as a Major Contender in Everest Group’s Sustainability Enablement Technology Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022.”
