Data Privacy & Freedom of Expression Description of policies and practices relating to targeted advertising and user privacy TC-SI-220a.1 The NTT DATA Group has established the following policies regarding user privacy and targeted advertising.
  • Regarding the protection of personal information (data privacy), we respond based on the "NTT DATA GROUP Data Protection Policy (DP Policy)" and ensure strict compliance with personal data protection laws and regulations in each country and region (e.g., EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI)). Specifically, each Group company establishes privacy policies and internal rules to comply with the DP Policy and national laws, requiring the appropriate handling of personal information according to those rules, thereby ensuring that personal information is properly protected across the entire Group. These policies and rules also cover partner companies to which we outsource operations, achieving the appropriate handling of information assets including personal information. Furthermore, for companies in Japan, we strive to maintain a common level of protection within the Group so that each company meets the PrivacyMark certification standards, regardless of whether they have obtained the certification. We recognize the importance of personal information (including, e.g., specific personal information) and position personal information protection activities as a fundamental activity of the Group. Recognizing that sincerely implementing personal information protection initiatives is a social responsibility, we have established the following personal information protection policy and will ensure it is thoroughly disseminated and enforced among officers, employees, and collaborators.
  • As stated in NTT DATA GROUP Corporation's Personal Information Protection Policy, personal information shall be collected only after informing the customers of the purpose and obtaining consent for doing so, except when the rights or interests of customers or third parties might be injured.
The personal information obtained will not be used for any purposes other than those for which consent has been obtained. Personal information collected by us shall not be provided to third parties without prior express consent of the customers, except as required by law or regulation. We will collect personal information only to the extent necessary for achieving the stated purposes, and after the specified period for use or storage has elapsed, it will be promptly disposed of or returned.
  • We will implement appropriate security measures to protect the personal information obtained from customers. These security measures include organizational, technical (such as encryption, pseudonymization, anonymization), and physical safeguards.
  • In the case of a request by the individual for their personal data (such as for disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, suspension of use, or erasure), we will respond in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

Description of approach to identifying and addressing data security risks, including use of third-party cybersecurity standards TC-SI-230a.2 NTT DATA believes that it is crucial to strike an appropriate balance between ensuring information security and actively utilizing and sharing information. To this end, we implement various measures, including management measures such as developing rules and conducting information security education and awareness activities, as well as technical measures such as deploying information leakage countermeasures and adopting zero-trust architecture.
In addition, to share knowledge and expertise across the Group, we promote the flow of knowledge within the Group through forums such as the NTT DATA Group information security forum for Group companies in Japan and the Global Security Meeting for overseas Group companies, working toward the establishment of unified information security governance across the Group.

Employee engagement as a percentage TC-SI-330a.2 We conduct engagement surveys to understand the state of employee engagement and to promote the identification of issues and improvement efforts. While survey methods and frequencies previously varied by Group company and country, in fiscal 2024, all overseas Group employees-in addition to NTT DATA Group Corporation, NTT DATA, NTT DATA, Inc. (Japan), and some Group companies in Japan-conducted a common employee engagement survey. From fiscal 2025, the survey will be standardized across the entire NTT DATA (including Group companies in Japan) and conducted annually for all employees as a common Group survey (survey name: "One Voice"). This will enable the assessment and analysis of employee engagement across the entire NTT DATA Group using the same scale.

To understand employee engagement in detail, the ratio of employee engagement is measured as the average score of four key KPIs that constitute engagement. In fiscal 2024, the consolidated employee engagement score for the Group, including overseas locations, was 72%. (The positive response ratio for "I am proud to work at this company" was 78%).
