NTT DATA Joins the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) Forum

TOKYO - March 13, 2023 - NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services leader, today announced that it has joined the TNFD Forum in February 2023. The TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) is an international initiative to develop a framework for assessment and disclosure of nature-related risks and opportunities in order to achieve prosperity for both nature and human beings. The TNFD Forum consists of corporates, financial institutions, public sector institutions that are aligned with the mission and principles of the TNFD.
NTT DATA has held up “Realizing a Sustainable Future”1 in the Mid-term Management Plan and is committed to solving social issues and contributing to the global environment from the perspectives of both our operational activities (Green Innovation of IT) and our business activities for customers and society (Green Innovation by IT). “Nature Conservation,” is one of our material themes, which aims to generate sound global environment and contribute to people’s well-being by conserving and recovering nature capital.
Through our participation in the TNFD Forum, NTT DATA will enhance our activities to conserve and restore natural capital and biodiversity.
About TNFD and the TNFD Forum
The TNFD was established in June 2021 as an international initiative to develop a framework for assessment and disclosure of information on risks and opportunities related to the natural environment and biodiversity. The TNFD aims to improve transparency of nature-related risks and opportunities on business activities and a shift in global financial flows to nature-positive2 solutions, opportunities, and business models.
The TNFD Forum consists of more than 900 corporates, financial institutions, public sector institutions that are aligned with the mission of the TNFD and therefore is a global and multi-disciplinary consultative network. The Forum shares the latest information on the TNFD through regular reports and webinars to support development of the framework.
